What a great event! I wasn't able to get down to packet pickup so I just made sure to leave a little early race morning. The event was very well marked, as there were signs showing running where off site parking would be (and there was a bus to take you to the start line.) Everything started on time and we could not have asked for a better day to run. I love everything about this event. The looping course allowed you to constantly be surrounded by other runners and spectators.
The finish line was packed with fun booths. There was plenty of water along the course and at the finish area. BJ's Restaurant and Brewery were there serving up slices of pizza, which was by far one of my favorite post-race treats so far.
This was the perfect course for me, as it was mostly flat, my favorite kind. I had no expectation going in to the race other than to finish. Was excited to see I had cut about 30 seconds off my PR when I looked at my watch upon crossing the finish line. Although I have yet to see the official time, it was just the boost I needed after being held up last week during my half marathon in Walnut Creek, which cost me my 3rd half PR for the year. I look forward to running this venue again next year and would highly recommend it to anyone.
